AI crawlers Motif can actually see

Competitors who 'see Claude training' are reading origin or CDN logs. A JavaScript tracker cannot. Motif reports crawlers that touched the tracker, and says so.

What v1 observes

Known AI user-agents on GET /m.js or POST /v1/events. Hits roll up by website, UTC day, exact agent, family, and class. They do not create visitors.

What v1 does not observe

GPTBot reading your HTML and never loading the script. That fetch never reaches Motif. Claiming it did would be a product lie.

Classes

User-requested fetch, search indexing, and model-related crawler. Families include OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Meta, Google AI, Amazon, and other AI. Unknown generic scrapers stay dropped. robots.txt product tokens such as Google-Extended are not User-Agents and are not classified.

Where it shows

Insights always has an AI crawlers section. Empty state means no observed tracker hits, or no first-party tracking host, not 'no one crawled your site.'

Will Motif show GPTBot on my blog posts?

Only if GPTBot requested the Motif tracker or collector. HTML-only crawls of the blog are invisible to Motif.

Can a crawler win the weekly recommendation?

No. Crawler hits are not a channel and are ignored by the ranking.
