Citations are not customers
GEO culture celebrates screenshots of ChatGPT naming a brand. Motif waits for the person, then the payment. A mention with no click is invisible to a JavaScript tracker, and Motif will say so.
Three facts people collapse
A model-related crawler fetched your HTML. A search bot indexed you. A person clicked a citation. Only the third can become first touch. The first two are crawler series if they hit Motif, and invisible if they did not.
Zero-click answers
If the assistant answers without a click, Motif sees nothing. That is not a tracking bug. It is the shape of the surface. Recovering zero-click demand is a content and product problem, not a pixel problem.
When a competitor is named instead
Motif cannot scrape the assistant to tell you why. It can tell you whether their channel, or yours, produced customers in the window. Spend arguments belong on that ranking.
If ChatGPT cites me, will Motif show it?
Not the citation. Motif shows the people who landed with a chatgpt.com referrer and, if they pay, the Stripe join. GPTBot fetching the page to train or index is a different series, and only if it hit the tracker.
